Dylan Kasson

Profile
Dylan Kasson is a self-described "Professional scooter rider and part time photographer". He is also a videographer. He currently works Tilt Scooters shooting commercial photography and making cinematic videos for the company.

His street photography is mostly of places and it tends to be quite minimal, paying attention at finding textures, patterns or simply looking for an interesting piece of architecture. He tends to take pictures with sharp leading lines, and tries to emphasise the desolation of most places as he rarely shoots people - unless he is taking pictures of people on scooters. Unlike most street photographers, Kasson doesn't intent to tell a story through his images, which sets him apart from most street photographers like Martin Parr for example.

What I like about him is the minimalistic aspect of his photography and how he makes boring things suddenly look intriguing because of the leading lines, or because of the colours or simply because he shot an interesting texture. I also really enjoy that he finds striking images in things one wouldn't personally think of shooting.
