Fourth Photoshoot
27th of November
Shooting Plan

When? On the 26th of November from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Where? I'd arrive from Westminster Underground Station, cross Westminster Bridge, walk the southbank until I get to Tower Bridge and then leave via London Bridge underground station.

Equipment? My Canon 750D/Rebel T6i with an 18 to 55mm lens.
Target for this shoot is to shoot more people and I'm going to attempt to shoot in Manual mode.

When approaching people, I will use Brandon Stanton's technique.

(in order of preference)
The colour palette in this image is the best part, we have this really interesting contrast of dark dull colours against the ginger hair and green eyes of the subject. Moreover, the image is well balanced as the subject is in the middle and it's eyes are in the top line of the rule of thirds, making the image visually appealing.
This image is quite interesting, but the main problem with it is that near the bottom of the image, two subjects are cut out, which makes the image less appealing and makes it seem more amateur. I tend to do this a lot where I cut people randomly when shooting, and this is one of the goals I've set for the next shoot.
The technical aspect of the shoot went really well, I feel like I have mastered shooting in both Aperture and Manual mode. I barely had any pictures that were wrongly expose or images were my subjects were out of focus. Mainly, I shot in Manual mode with a single point focus; this was because I wanted to be able to shoot with a really fast shutter speed as the subjects were going to be people. I learnt how to use exposure composition better, that way I could have some detail in the sky.

The shoot was really successful when it comes to candid street photography, as I felt that I have mastered blending in with people in a crowded place (although this was mainly because where I went was a really touristy place). When it comes to asking people for photos it was hard because I hardly found anyone who seemed interesting enough to ask for a photo. Also, the other problem with my subjects is that there's a lack of people of colour, but I believe that has got to do with the area I was in.

My favourite shot is the one up; it's really well composed, following the rule of thirds, which makes the image feel balanced. The focus was directly on my subjects, which made them look really sharp, and in focus. The colour palette is quite good too and it evokes an interesting feeling towards the viewer. Finally, the image has the intention of telling a story of this old couple.
The best part of the shoot was definitely near the end of the day, when I started shooting in one place and trying to blend in with the people near Tower Bridge. There I took the best shots, like the first one below. Also, I achieved one of my goals which was feeling comfortable shooting in Manual mode; but I didn't achieve my other goal which was asking people if I could shoot a portrait of them. I will work on this on the next shoot.

Overall, this shoot was really interesting and challenging. There were some great shots with intention, which is something I wanted to portray in this shoot. After this shoot, I now have a new set of goals for the next shoot, which are to improve shooting portraits of strangers.
